| In the past, like Forbidden City, the square was not open to the public. Now it becomes a place for people to relax after work. Surrounding the square, you will find many monumental structures. On the east are the Museum of Chinese History and the Museum of the Chinese Revolution; on the west, the Great Hall of the People and the south, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and huge sculptures. At the center stands the Monument to the People's Heroes. |
